You must have Builder's Club to upload these.
If so, you can have all the fun of working in a textile mill here in ROBLOX! I'm talking about making your own pants and shirts, either for yourself or to sell to your fellow ROBLOXians whose fashion sense or artistic skill might not be as great as your own.
Anyone can purchase new shirts and pants in the ROBLOX Catalog. However, creating and selling these exciting new products is an exclusive Builders Club privilege.
With the addition of the R15 Avatar update, you'll need to be mindful of the joints where the character bends when creating Pants and Shirts.
Go to the Develop page and click on either the Shirts or Pants tab on the left side.
Now you’ll see a screen that looks like this:
First you need to download the shirt template to your computer. This is a picture that you draw on to create you own shirt. You can use whatever image editing program you like. When you're done with your changes, you can go back to the Develop page and upload the shirt or pants to the website.
You’ll notice that the Shirt Template file you download looks crazy and has lots of pretty colors. Fear not — You are about to become a 3D graphics artist!
The basic idea here is that the shirt template is "folded" up and wrapped around your character, like origami. If you were to print out the template below, you could cut out all the colored rectangles, tape them together, and create a real-life 3D shirt. That’s what ROBLOX does for you once you upload your shirt template image.
Keep in mind, that although the arms are labelled differently, they are opposite. This means that what the template calls the right arm is really the left, and vice versa.
There is no difference between the shirt and pants template, and so you can use one template for a full outfit.
With the addition of R15 Avatars to ROBLOX, new limits have been added to the templates. Since the arms and legs bend now, there are limits to how much space items like shoes can take up. See below image.
Here are a couple of examples of how high you should and should not texture your shoes on the pants. If the shoes are too high on the pants template, you might see parts of them in the upper leg where it bends. The same rule applies to all areas that bend on the pants, as well as shirts.
Once you've painted your shirt, click the "Choose File" button to select your shirt file and click the "Upload". The shirt will show up in your wardrobe. You can only make a shirt if you are in the Builder's Club. Congrats! You've made your first new shirt!
The image you upload must be the exact dimensions of the template (585 pixels wide and 559 pixels tall), or the upload will fail.
Square: 128x128 pixels (used for the front and back of torso)
Skyscraper Rectangle: 64x128 pixels (used for the sides of torso and the sides of arms/legs)
Banner Rectangle: 128x64 pixels (used for the top and bottom of torso)
Small Square: 64x64 pixels (used for the top and bottom of arms/legs)
NOTE: This template can be used to make both Shirts and Pants.
There are numerous free image editing programs you can use that are a lot more flexible than built-in programs like Microsoft Paint.
