Dear MrDoomBringer:
Hey, I was talking to OutOfSpace, geez, did we pile all these redirects on you? My gosh, I'm so sorry! WOW that's a lot. MINDRAKER 08:46, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- Do what? ---Mr Doom Bringer 08:48, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm looking at Anaminus' page of redirects and such that need to be gone through. It's a lot of redirects!
By the way, I only locked the Gavin12 acct for 1 day, I figured we could reassess the situation again. MINDRAKER 08:52, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
RE: Slow down
Dear Mr Doom Bringer:
We're at a slowdown point anyway. Anaminus had pointed out a bunch of obvious redundant links and pages (like unnecessary RBX.lua redirects), and we're pretty much done with his first group of obvious junk. Now we're at the "improvement" stage.
Since I am unsure about what the MediaWiki is all about, I have left those alone.
I respectfully disagree that the Conceptual Design pages were OK as they were written. A person could read the article and still not know how to build anything. I do believe that the articles have potential if one goes into further depth as to the "concept" of what is going on. However, that was not going on in these articles. People were dropping simply dropping names "John Doe is working on this new design."
I don't have MSN, you can contact me either with my ROBLOX ID or on my page here. MINDRAKER 10:45, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Right, I will agree that they aren't very well written but it's still a section that should be there.
- Just because a page is very poorly written doesn't mean it should be removed. It should only be removed if there is absolutely no reason for it to exist. If it is an article that should be there then it should remain there until someone can finish it, clean it up, etc. Also, redirects aren't always on the removal list, if "Workspace" is typed into the searchbar and no page exists, then the user will have to look through several different listings of search results. If it's nothing more than a redirect then the user goes straight to the properly named page, but looked for what made sense.
- You're going to have to notice things like this, we aren't necessarily going for a neat and clean wiki, we're going for an easy to locate things wiki. ---Mr Doom Bringer 12:02, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- Organization is a key factor in finding things, MDB. They almost go handinhand. I don't understand why we can't strive for both.
- The MediaWiki is my doing. I thought I could tamper with Standard.css since it had no code and noone was using it.
- You're not going to be banned from the wiki. I'd like this place to have a clearly defined "What we're doing", "What's supposed to be done", and "What's sane". Have you reviewed my edits to the editing guidelines? I think it should be about "can you provide acurate content that we can work with" as to "If you can't spell, you're getting ip banned and recorded for future reference."
- My contacts are the same as Mindraker's. Here or PM.
Question
Did Mindraker quit as a syops, or what.... why is he blocked?...? User:gordonrox24
- MrDoomBringer, there is something you should know. Withing the MediaWiki Manual, it reads quite clearly that sysops can not be blocked. ~Space
- Fixed that then. ---Mr Doom Bringer 11:21, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
