The Home tab contains basic functions necessary for building and testing your game.
The Home tab includes the following sections and tools:
The Clipboard options let you copy, cut, paste, and duplicate instances inside Studio.
|Paste||Creates a copy of the copied/cut Instance(s) in the clipboard and pastes them in the selected object.|
|Copy||Copies the selected Instance(s) to the clipboard.|
|Cut||Copies the selected Instance(s) to the clipboard and deletes the original.|
|Duplicate||Immediately copies the selected Instance(s) and parents the copy at the same level as the original.|
The Tools section contains tools to manipulate the position, size, and orientation of Parts. It also lets you toggle various options for how parts interact with each other.
|Select||Allows you to select the current part/model in the Workspace.|
|Move||Displays three handles which can be dragged to move the current selection along the corresponding X, Y, or Z axis.|
|Scale||Displays three handles which can be dragged to resize the current selection along the corresponding X, Y, or Z axis. Only works with BaseParts (Models cannot be scaled as a whole).|
|Rotate||Displays three handles which can be dragged to spin the current selection about the corresponding X, Y, or Z axis.|
|Collisions||Toggles the collisions state. If off, parts can be moved, scaled, or rotated so that they overlap each other. If on, parts cannot be manipulated so that they overlap other parts.|
|Constraints||Toggles whether to “solve” constraints while dragging (Constraints attach two parts together and let you create special behaviors for the parts).|
|Join||Lets you select how parts will stick together after you manipulate them (if they are touching).|
The Insert section contains tools to open the toolbox and insert basic Parts.
|Toolbox||Toggles the Toolbox window open and closed. This contains all of your Models and Decals, as well as all of the models in Roblox's library.|

The Edit section allows you to change the color, material, and other behavior of parts in the workspace.
|Material||Changes the Material of the selected Part(s).|
|Color||Changes the Color of the selected Part(s).|
|Group||Groups all of the selected parts into a new Model. The dropdown lets you select the Ungroup tool which removes the Model group and allows all of the parts that were within it to be selected individually.|
|Lock||Locks a part so that it cannot be manipulated by Studio tools. The dropdown lets you switch to the Unlock All tool which allows you to unlock parts so they can be manipulated again.|
|Anchor||Toggles whether part(s) are Anchored or not. Anchored parts will be locked in place and will not move due to physics while the game is running.|
The Terrain section contains tools to create and shape static terrain in your game.
|Generate||Generates a random landscape based on several configurable parameters.|
|Add||Fills terrain with the selected Material.|

|Stop||Stops simulation of the game and resets all Parts and Instances to how they were before Play, Play Here, or Run was pressed.|
The Settings section contains the following option:
|Game Settings||Updates settings related to the current game, including options for player avatars and overall game security.|
The Team Test section provides options to test a game that's being designed with the Team Create feature.
