Tools

The Tools menu contains tools to manipulate the position, size, and orientation of Parts.

Action Description
Select Allows you to drag the current selection in the Workspace.
Move Displays three handles which can be dragged to move the current selection along the corresponding X, Y, or Z axis.
Scale Displays three handles which can be dragged to resize the current selection along the corresponding X, Y, or Z axis. Only works with BaseParts (Models cannot be scaled).
Rotate Displays three handles which can be dragged to spin the current selection about the corresponding X, Y, or Z axis.
Transform Multi-purpose too used to reposition, reorient, and resize parts. See Transform for more info.
Lock Locks a Part so it cannot be manipulated by Studio tools. The dropdown allows you to switch to the Unlock tool which allows you to unlock Parts so they can be manipulated again.
Collisions Toggles the collisions state. If off (which it is by default) Parts can be moved so that they overlap each other. If on then Parts cannot be moved so they overlap.
Join Selects how parts will stick together if they are touching after you move them with a Studio tool. By default it is set to Surface only which will connect studs/inlets and welds. Always will join touching parts even if the surfaces are smooth. Never will not create any joints. See Joints for more info.
1 Stud Sets dragging and scaling with Select, Move, and Scale to step in 1 stud increments. Sets Rotate to spin in 45 degree increments.
1/5th Stud Sets dragging and scaling with Select, Move, and Scale to step in 1/5th stud increments. Sets Rotate to spin in 15 degree increments.
Off Removes increments from other tools, allowing selections to be moved, scaled, and rotated freely.
